Experience Ms. Friestad is the managing partner of the San Diego and Sacramento offices of Friestad Law Firm. Prior to forming her own law practice in 1991, she managed other law offices in the areas of Health Care Law, Insurance Law, ERISA, and Workers' Compensation. Since then, she has continued to expand her involvement in health care litigation, health care transactions, and appellate work, while also developing her practice to include corporate mergers and acquisitions, business formation, and business transactions. She presently represents numerous corporations and small businesses as general outside counsel for all of their business needs, including business planning, negotiations and transactions, risk management, and venture capital fundraising. She also represents major health care facilities and networks in litigation and transactions. Activities Ms. Friestad lectures and conducts educational seminars and has been a speaker at various bioethics symposiums. She has lectured to and advised the Cuban Ministry of Health. She continues her membership in bioethics, medical, and legal committees, and is a director on the Governing Board of Directors at a Southern California hospital. She is also a board member of the Legal Board of Directors for a 20 hospital network, and reports to the boards of other corporations as legal counsel.
